Abstract

This study aims to investigate the challenges and opportunities faced by Sumbawa University of Technology (UTS) in attracting global talents. The research focuses on understanding the complexities involved in internationalization efforts in higher education. The study utilized qualitative methods including semi-structured interviews and content analysis, coupled with quantitative surveys. Thematic analysis software was employed to analyze the qualitative data, ensuring a comprehensive examination of the challenges and opportunities. The research unveiled significant challenges such as language barriers and cultural differences. However, it also identified promising opportunities, including enhanced scholarship programs and improved support services for international students. The insights from this study can be valuable for universities worldwide, particularly those aiming to enhance their global talent attraction strategies. Additionally, policymakers and educational professionals in the field of international education can benefit from the findings. This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by providing a nuanced understanding of the challenges faced by UTS and highlighting innovative strategies employed in global talent attraction. The findings offer a fresh perspective, advancing the discourse on internationalization efforts in higher education.
